Abiding Grove Makes Its Theme Camp Debut

Abiding Grove Makes Its Theme Camp Debut

For the first time at a regional Burn, Abiding Grove officially participated as a theme camp—and the experience was a major success.

We received priority placement directly across from the effigy burn art, giving us a central location to welcome participants throughout the event. With the help of a dedicated and fabulous crew, we created a relaxed space where people could cool down, recharge, and abide before heading out on their next adventure.

During the hot days, our massive shade structure, ceiling fans, cold beverages, and Dudeism Baptism—an ice-cold head plunge—helped keep visitors comfortable. At night, our cozy firepit became a natural gathering place, regularly drawing a crowd that stayed late into the evening.

The Dudely Cinema offered people a quiet place to sit, relax, and enjoy a comforting film. Our interactive activities were also big hits. Disc-O-Golf, the miniature bowling alley, and the Jackie Treehorn Pole brought groups of strangers together to laugh, play, and connect.

One of the most encouraging discoveries was just how many Dudeists attend regional Burns. We met fellow Achievers from across the community and welcomed several new members into the Abiding Grove family.

To everyone who visited, shared a beverage, played a game, watched a movie, or relaxed by the fire: thank you for helping make our first theme camp experience so memorable.

If you enjoyed your time at Abiding Grove, please consider becoming a member and helping us continue to build welcoming spaces centered around friendship, play, creativity, and abiding.

Overall, the event was a great success, and our team is already looking forward to returning next year.
