From Global Achievers to Global Abiders: Helping People Around the World
Learn how the Little Lebowski Project supported entrepreneurs, students, and families through Kiva microloans and how that spirit continues today through Little Lebowski Church and The Abiding Grove.
From Global Achievers to Global Abiders: Helping People Around the World
Long before there was a vision for The Abiding Grove, there was a simple idea.
"Travel the world. Meet interesting people. Share a laugh."
And whenever we could, help someone else take their next step.
As the Little Lebowski Project grew, a small amount of money from advertisements, merchandise, and supporter contributions was never kept for ourselves. Instead, we chose to pass it along through Kiva, helping entrepreneurs, students, families, and small business owners around the world build a better future. We used to call these recipients our Global Achievers. Today, we think there's a better name.
Meet the Global Abiders
Around here, being a Global Abider isn't about fame, wealth, or becoming the next big success story. It's about helping ordinary people find a little more stability, opportunity, and hope.
Sometimes that means helping someone attend university. Sometimes it's helping a parent keep a family business alive.
Sometimes it's buying sewing supplies, farming equipment, or helping someone learn a new skill.
They're all simply people trying to build a better life. Just like the Dude, they're doing their best to abide.

Small Gifts. Real Impact.
None of these were enormous donations. They didn't change the entire world overnight. But together, they reminded us of something important: Small acts of kindness can travel a very long way. Looking back, these microloans were some of the earliest seeds of what would eventually become Little Lebowski Church.
They reflected values we still hold today: Community over isolation. Helping people help themselves. Supporting creativity and education. Investing in people rather than problems. Believing that small actions, repeated often, can grow into something much bigger.
The Next Chapter
Today, our focus is expanding from helping individuals around the world to building something that can help communities come together.
Through The Abiding Grove, we hope to create a place where people can gather, learn, volunteer, play, grow food, share ideas, and simply take life a little easier.
The spirit hasn't changed.
Only the scale of the dream has.
If you'd like to help plant the next seeds, we'd love to have you join us.
Because every Grove begins with a single seed.
"Come abide with us."
